Explosiveness is a very important aspect of athletics, regardless of sport and you see it everywhere from football to diving and everything in between. Box jumping especially for height is also great for developing the ability to open and close your hips with speed, and hip flexibility, both of which will transfer into the Olympic lifts. High box jump can be scary but conquer your fears and saddle up because the 307 has not had anyone die from a scraped shin. 

Exercise: Find max height box jump (use bumper plates to add height but Please don't use the 10s or 15s), then complete 10 reps at your max jump.
