Competition Recovery

Competitions can drain you physically and mentally, so its important to evaluate where you are at after competition and get the recovery you need. In many cases, because of the amount of volume, and the metabolic stress your body is under during competitions, one day of recovery typically isnt enough. It may be appropriate to take 2-3 days or even a week of recovery to get things back to where they need to be. However, these shouldn't be days of no activity, they should be active recovery days.I reccomend staying out of the gym and just doing an activity that you find fun and relaxing. This will help your body recovere through light movement, and just as importantly help you recover mentally and kind of decompress after so much sensory overload experienced at competition. So, Throw Down competitors, take a few days off!
